Manchester United, especially if they manage to complete a deal for Benjamin Sesko, have had a busier and somewhat more expensive summer than many expected. Still, there are areas of the squad which fans believe still need addressing.
One of those is midfield, with Ruben Amorim’s team often looking light in the middle of the pitch. Perhaps the name thrown up most by Red Devils supporters when it comes to that position is Brighton & Hove Albion’s Carlos Baleba.
Th 21-year-old moved from Lille to Brighton in 2023 and won a lot of fans last season with his performances for the Seagulls.
On Wednesday evening, L’Equipe report Manchester United have initiated contact to sign the midfielder and are in pole position to do so.
That contact was to find out the conditions of a deal and whilst the French newspaper state Manchester United already know the price will be very high, they don’t know what exactly it will be.
L’Equipe note that Manchester City were quoted €120m in the winter market.
Pep Guardiola’s side are said to still be in the picture, with Arsenal and Liverpool also credited with some level of interest.
