Report: Another Wolves player could yet follow Goncalo Guedes to Real Sociedad as transfer race …

Wolves recently sold Goncalo Guedes to Real Sociedad – and it’s not out of the question another player could follow him there.

There has been an exodus this summer at Molineux, and Guedes is the latest outgoing, joining the Spanish outfit in a deal worth just over £5 million.

Guedes’ three years at Molineux were not good. Although he made some good contributions last season, the Portuguese forward had spent most of his time out on loan, having not wanted to be at Wolves.

Guedes has admitted that he never settled in England, in an admission that will not have come as too much of a shock.

But now, there is an outside chance of another Wolves player making the same move, and linking back up with Guedes.

Real Sociedad emerge as contenders for Wolves striker Fabio Silva

Fabio Silva continues to dominate Wolves transfer news.

The striker is expected to leave Wolves permanently this summer, and it seems like his exit could finally happen very soon.

Borussia Dortmund recently put a contract offer to Silva.

But it was then reported that Silva really wanted to push for a move to AS Roma, despite Dortmund offering more money.

Now, Sport Bild have named a bunch of clubs that are still in the hunt for Silva – and it’s interesting to note that Real Sociedad are named. The report names six clubs who’re in the mix, those being Villarreal, Real Sociedad, RB Leipzig, Stuttgart, Eintracht Frankfurt and AS Roma.

Sociedad, of course, have just signed Guedes. So one wonders if Silva would be open to that move if they stepped up their interest.

Of course, Wolves want to sell for the highest possible price, so it depends if Sociedad can meet the asking price, thought to be around £20 million.

Silva has proven himself in La Liga

Obviously, there has been a claim that Silva wants AS Roma.

But maybe a move to Sociedad shouldn’t be ruled out, because Silva had success in La Liga last season during his loan spell with Las Palmas.

Fabio Silva for Wolves (2020-present)

Appearances – 72

Goals – 5

Assists – 6

He scored 10 goals for the club, and perhaps would have ended the season with a high tally had it not been for an injury he picked up at the end of the campaign.

Guedes is there now, so perhaps the lure is greater than it was before. And interestingly, Silva did send a farewell message to Guedes telling him he hoped he would be happy with his move to Sociedad, perhaps indicating there is a bond there between the two.

But it’s just ideal for Wolves that all these clubs are interested in Silva. Hopefully, it will result in a transfer fee of £20 million or more being secured.
