Liverpool receive major Isak boost as striker 'banished' by Howe

Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak has reportedly been banished by Eddie Howe and told to train alone.

The Swedish marksman has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool, and he has informed the club of his desire to join Anfield.

Isak did not travel with the Newcastle squad for the pre-season tour of Asia, and trained alone at his former club Real Sociedad.

The Magpies striker reportedly returned to training on Monday, but Howe was far from impressed and criticised him for acting poorly amid interest from the Premier League champions.

The Magpies boss recently told the Daily Mail about Isak: "You have to earn the right to train with us. We are Newcastle United. The player has a responsibility here to be part of a team and part of a squad - you have to act in the right way. So that is also at play here."

According to a report from GIVEMESPORT, Isak has been told by Howe to train alone as the Newcastle boss backed up his words with action.

The Tyneside club are unlikely to land Benjamin Sesko, who is reportedly heading towards joining Manchester United.

The 22-year-old could have been a potential replacement for Isak, but the latest transfer blow could create more problems for the Swedish striker.

Despite spending close to £300m on seven players, Liverpool can still afford to sign Isak on a record transfer fee.

The Reds submitted an official bid for the 25-year-old worth a staggering £120m plus add-ons, but it was swiftly rejected.

The report from GMS claims that Liverpool are unlikely to return with another big offer unless given encouragement by Newcastle.

The saga is likely to drag on towards the end of the window, but the latest news coming out from the Magpies camp should boost the Reds.

Liverpool, meanwhile, are looking to offload Darwin Nunez, and they have reportedly reached an agreement in principle with Al-Hilal over the sale of the Uruguayan striker.
