Cowboys' Micah Parsons Could Lure Former NFL Star Out of Retirement

Over the past week, Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons has been one of the hottest topics in the NFL. As he continues his standoff with the organization, one former player's reaction to his trade request has the football world buzzing.

In light of still not having a contract extension, Parsons' frustrations reached a boiling point last Friday. He posted a long message on social media, peeling back the curtain on how things have unfolded from his point of view.

After airing out all his grievances, Parsons noted that he requested a trade from the Cowboys.

Though Dallas doesn't appear willing to enter the trade market just yet, hypotheticals are still being tossed out regularly. The thought of Parsons landing with one NFC contender has a former star considering a career change.

Aaron Donald teases coming out of retirement to play with Micah Parsons

Earlier this week, a photoshopped picture of Parsons in a LA Rams jersey began circling on Instagram. Among those to react to it was three-time Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald. He stated that if the Rams were able to pull off such a blockbuster, he'd get back in shape and come out of retirement.

"If @_micahparsons11 go to the rams I might have to call @210ths and get in football shape wit that Dline would be unreal," Donald commented.

Parsons replied to Donald's remark, getting excited at the idea of playing alongside a player like Donald.

"man!!! Dont tell me info like that!!" Parsons replied.

Donald, who was the No. 1 pick in the 2014 draft, put together one of the best careers of a defensive lineman in NFL history. When he retired in 2023, his list of accolades includes three DPOYs, 10 Pro-Bowl nominations, eight All-Pro nominations, and one Super Bowl Championship. Donald also racked up 111.0 sacks in 154 games.

Seeing that he isn't far removed from his playing days, getting back into game shape likely wouldn't be a tall task for Donald. These two moves would instantly put LA in the title conversation, as they already have a roster eager to make some noise in the NFC.

As of now, this scenario is far more of a pipe dream than reality. Despite how things have escalated, the Cowboys are still hopeful they'll be able to keep Parsons around for the foreseeable future.
