There are no official injury reports for the NFL’s preseason. But during media availability following Tuesday’s practice, Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald provided some injury and status updates on a handful of players ahead of the team’s Thursday night preseason opener against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Here’s a summary of what Macdonald said, along with reporting from Seahawks.com’s John Boyle.
• Running back Kenneth Walker III returned to practice Tuesday after missing several days with a sore foot.
• Cornerback Shaquill Griffin was back at practice after missing the past week and a half due to a personal matter, but didn’t participate. Griffin has been expected to compete with Josh Jobe for the No. 3 cornerback spot behind Devon Witherspoon and Riq Woolen.
“We have a plan for Shaq,” Macdonald said. “He’s back. He’s missed some time, so you can’t just throw him in and let him rock with the wolves. But we have a plan, so we’ll stick to that.”
• Olu Oluwatimi, who is battling Jalen Sundell for the starting center job, has been sidelined for multiple practices. Macdonald said Oluwatimi is dealing with a tight back and that he’s “day to day.”
• Starting linebacker Tyrice Knight was sidelined from Tuesday’s practice after exiting Monday’s practice with a knee injury. Macdonald said Knight got in “a little tangle” with this knee and is undergoing testing to determine the severity.
• Mike Morris, who’s in the mix for a backup defensive end spot, has a “lower body” injury is undergoing testing, Macdonald said.
• Return specialist Steven Sims is dealing with a hamstring injury. “We’re getting closer,” Macdonald said. “Probably day to day at this point. Maybe a couple more days.”
• Josh Ross, who’s battling for a backup linebacker spot, underwent hand surgery. Macdonald said “he should be back soon.”
• Macdonald said long snapper Chris Stoll’s timeline to return from a back issue remains unclear. “He’s getting better, but we just don’t know long it’s going to take.” The Seahawks signed veteran long snapper Zach Triner to their 90-man roster on Monday.
