Leeds United join race to bring £26m-rated striker back to PL from Saudi Pro League, Tottenham…

Leeds United are interested in a move for Aleksandar Mitrovic as Tottenham are ready to cool their chase for the Serbian striker.

According to Sebastian Vidal, Aleksandar Mitrovic is a target for Leeds United as Daniel Farke eyes an experienced striker ahead of the new season. Al-Hilal are ready to part ways with the Serbian as they anticipate the arrival of Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez. Meanwhile, Tottenham have cooled their interest in the Serbian frontman.

The striker market continues to provide the headlines this summer, as many teams continue to look for the key addition to lead their lines. For one reason or another other many different moves are somewhat linked to each other, for instance, the Aleksandar Mitrovic case, as Al-Hilal are now ready to move on from their top scorer.

Mitrovic joined Al-Hilal from Fulham back in 2023, and has been a productive signing for the Saudi Pro League side for the two seasons he has spent there. Last season, he notched 28 goals across all competitions, which has made the club’s decision to part ways with the Serbian a bit baffling.

With Darwin Nunez closing in on a move to Al-Hilal, the Uruguayan international is the likeliest replacement for the Serbian. Al-Hilal are reportedly demanding £26 million for the 30-year-old striker, with a few teams from the Premier League showing big interest, including Leeds United.

Tottenham were keen on Aleksandar Mitrovic, as Thomas Frank wants to bolster his frontline with a new option, possibly in place of the ineffective Richarlison. However, Spurs have cooled their interest in the £26 million-rated striker, as Leeds United may have the chance to make their presence felt in the race for the Serbian.

Leeds United keen to sign an experienced striker

Leeds United being interested in Aleksandar Mitrovic may not come as a surprise, as Daniel Farke seeks an experienced striker ahead of the new season. There are some links to Mehdi Taremi, while other reports have linked them to names like Rodrigo Muniz.

They were also keen on Artem Dovbyk, but his price is an issue for Leeds United. Hence, the £26 million-rated striker Mitrovic would be a good deal for Leeds United to consider, especially now when Al-Hilal could look to sell the Serb, as a return to the Premier League could be on the 30-year-old’s mind.
