Talks ongoing over potential loan swoop for Milan to bolster attacking options

AC Milan are reportedly considering an initial loan move for Manchester United forward Rasmus Hojlund, while Dusan Vlahovic remains a transfer target this summer.

The Rossoneri have been busy in recent months as Massimiliano Allegri builds his own squad, and the expectation is that the incomings and outgoings are not yet done in his bid to strengthen the group that he inherited.

According to Antonio Vitiello, the Milan boss is seemingly keen to bolster his options in attack ahead of the new campaign, as it’s reported that we’re in talks over a potential loan move for Hojlund, with an option to buy tipped to be included in the agreement, while Juventus ace Vlahovic is still on our transfer radar as a potential alternative target.

Hojlund, 22, has had a difficult time at Man Utd since joining them from Atalanta in August 2023, as the Danish international has managed 26 just goals and six assists in 95 appearances thus far.

However, that follows on from an impressive stint in Bergamo with his form for Atalanta earning him the move to Old Trafford, and so perhaps Milan believe that a return to Italy will help the young striker regain his confidence and play his best football.

Time will tell if that becomes our priority or not, but with Santiago Gimenez as our only natural option to lead the line as things stand, it’s undoubtedly an area in which we can improve, and it’s hoped that we do address that in the coming weeks to ensure that we’re not short for the upcoming season.

Hojlund would be the riskier of the two options given Vlahovic has consistently proven himself in Serie A over a longer period of time, but it remains to be seen if the financial aspect of any deal to sign the Juventus frontman means that becomes a less realistic choice.

Milan have moved to strengthen in various other positions this summer, now it appears as though adding more firepower could become the top priority moving forward.
