Update: Horn himself said he's okay and isn't dealing with anything "major" from the accident.

Earlier: The Carolina Panthers experienced a major scare Wednesday when star cornerback Jaycee Horn was involved in a car accident.

Horn, 25, is entering his fifth season with the Panthers and is coming off his first Pro Bowl selection. News of the accident made the rounds on X/Twitter this morning, with the Carolina organization confirming some details.

According to the Panthers, Horn was on his way to Wednesday's joint workout session with the Cleveland Browns when the accident occurred. He won't practice as a result.

"Horn was alone in his car when the incident occurred at the corner of Mint and Morehead Streets," the Panthers said. "No one involved in the incident was transported by emergency medical personnel.

"Horn has been evaluated by team medical personnel and won't be involved in today's joint practice with the Browns."

Despite the accident, Horn made it to practice.

That update is obviously good news, as is the fact Horn was able to get to the facility even after the incident and is attending practice.

Even though he's not working out, Horn was spotted on the sideline observing by members of the media.

Given his status as a veteran and one of the best players on the team, it's unlikely that Horn will suit up against the Browns Friday night anyway.

Jaycee Horn is coming off a career year

After injuries limited Horn in his first three seasons, the onetime No. 8 overall pick turned in his best campaign in 2024.

Horn made 15 starts, logging 68 tackles, one interception, two sacks and 13 passes defensed. All of those numbers except the INTs are career-highs.

In March, the Panthers rewarded Horn with a new four-year, $100 million contract extension.

"A lot more work to be put in," Horn said after making the Pro Bowl last season. "I could be a way better player. I got a lot of room left to go, so just trying to do that every day and then hopefully next year coming back and, you know, making it again.

"I'm really just learning football, you know, being out there's different. We learn in the classroom, but we actually get the snaps and get the reps, the game slows down a lot, so I feel like the game slowed down a lot for me from Week 1 to the last game I played, so I'm just excited to get back next year and try to stack them up."
