NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Wednesday’s Titans training camp session was a reunion in more ways than one for newly signed safety Quandre Diggs.
The veteran defensive back played for Tennessee last season, so he reunited with numerous Titans teammates, along with his cousin, rookie quarterback Cam Ward.
Diggs fielded numerous questions after practice about his younger cousin.
“He’s the same,” Diggs said of Cam Ward. “He’s just talking trash, always asking for money or something like that. It’s always something with him, so I’m not surprised by anything he asks or says, each and every day.”
Tennessee signed Diggs Tuesday, adding the 10-year NFL veteran and three-time Pro Bowler back to the roster. He has played in 145 games with 120 starts and tallied 622 tackles and 24 interceptions.
Last season with the Titans, Diggs started eight games before his year was cut short when he suffered a Lisfranc fracture in his foot in November.
He was asked how he will use his experience to help his cousin Cam Ward along in his rookie season.
“I mean just the ups and downs that he’s going to go through, me being here, I can kind of guide him a little bit,” Diggs said. “You also, sometimes you got to let him sink a little bit and just let him learn it and be there... I’m experienced, so the ups and downs of this league and things that go through that, but I’m just here to be a person he can talk to.”
Cam Ward was not made available to the media for comment Wednesday.

WSMV4’s Lauren Walsh asked Ward in passing how he felt about having Diggs on board. Ward commented, “Yeah, it’s kind of weird showing up to work with my cousin.”
The reunions go beyond the family for Diggs, who is once again teammates with wide receiver Tyler Lockett.
“Played with him, I think about four years in Seattle, and now being able to team up with him with the Titans is really cool because you get a chance to really play with your brother,” Lockett said. “I know it’s really cool for him because his cousin is Cam, so it’s just kind of full-circle.”
Diggs also provided an update on how his foot has progressed after the Lisfranc injury.
“The foot is good,” Diggs said. “I’ve been good for a couple months now, just like, working out all the kinks and getting back to myself where I really feel like myself.”
The Titans will be on the road in Tampa Bay the rest of the week for joint practices and then a preseason game against the Buccaneers set for Saturday, August 9 at 6:30 p.m.
