Kanas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce is entering his 13th NFL season and the veteran All-Pro will be turning 36-years-old the day before he takes the field in Week 5 against the Jacksonville Jaguars for ESPN's Monday Night Football.

While he still remains a key factor on the field for defenses to pay attention to, it's only natural for the topic of retirement to come up given Kelce's age, and especially when you factor in his many projects and interests away from the football field.

Travis Kelce Makes Clear Statement About Retirement Thoughts

During a news conference with local reporters on Wednesday, Kelce-a three-time Super Bowl champion with an endless reel of memorable highlights-was asked about what his "fondest training-camp memory" would be if this current one turns out to be his final one.

"Man, ask me that when I retire," Kelce said in response.

It was certainly a fair question to ask of Kelce since he had outwardly weighed the possibility of retirement during this past offseason.

Still, though, considering the veteran tight end is currently in the midst of getting his body prepared for the grind of yet another NFL season, one that often ends in February for Kelce, retirement talk might not exactly be at the top of his question wishlist.

Nonetheless, following his initial response, Kelce did find himself getting somewhat reflective about the great success the Chiefs have seen over the past several years.

Chiefs' Winning Culture Helps Keeps Kelce Going

"I think that gives more juice than anything else is the fact that we have created this [winning] culture," Kelce said. "We have created this machine that, when you do it the right way, it works, and you get to win football games because of it. And I think that alone gives you the excitement that what we're doing here is special."

It's worth noting that the 2025 season will mark the final year of Kelce's contract with the Chiefs.

And while he did haul in an impressive 97 receptions last season, Kelce only saw the end zone three times in the regular season, the lowest touchdown output of his entire NFL career.

During that same media session on Wednesday, Kelce did kind of place a sincere bookend on his initial comment about retirement when asked if he ever thinks about how many training camps he might have left in him.

"Nah, man. You've just got to go through the dog days and enjoy it for what it is."
