**West Ham United have been urged to make an ambitious move for Manchester United outcast Jadon Sancho.**
The 25-year-old has been exiled at United and is not part of the club’s long-term plans. He’s one of several players on the chopping block and could be available for a decent fee.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with [ManUtdNews](https://manutdnews.com/rene-meulensteen-urges-manchester-united-to-sign-adam-wharton/), former United assistant coach Rene Meulensteen told Sancho to find a club where he’s valued.
Sancho’s options in England are significantly limited after Chelsea opted against signing him on a permanent deal this summer.
However, when asked whether West Ham would be the right club for the winger, Meulensteen said, “For some players, United is not the place for them.
“The most important thing they need is to find a place where they are valued.
“Sancho obviously had a good spell at Dortmund, which is why United bought him, but the move has not worked out at all.
“I think he needs to really look at a club that plays a style of football that suits him and a manager who can really help him.
“He needs to go somewhere and work under someone who values him for the player that he is – that’s the only way forward for him.
“Whether that is in the Premier League or abroad again, I don’t know, but he needs to make the right move this summer.
Sancho’s stock has plummeted since he joined United in 2021, but he’d still be a statement signing for West Ham. However, his salary demand would be a huge stumbling block.
The England international takes home a base salary of £250,000, which could get up to around £350,000 if bonuses are included.
Chelsea tried to get him to take a pay cut, but he turned down the offer. So far, Sancho’s options are thin, so he could get more agitated for an exit towards the end of the transfer window.
That could work in West Ham’s favour. United are keen to get him off their books but if the Hammers can agree a loan with option to buy and get Sanccho to lower his demands, that’ll be a huge statement.
