Arsenal Transfer News–The ONE Thing That Needs To Happen Before Arsenal Can Sign Eberechi Eze

Arsenal are hoping to sign Crystal Palace attacker Eberechi Eze this summer as they look to add even more firepower up front.

The Gunners already managed to secure Noni Madueke on the right-wing, and Viktor Gyokeres up front, but would also like to bring in a left-winger, who can challenge Gabriel Martinelli for the starting spot in Mikel Arteta‘s XI.

Eberechi Eze is understood to be Arsenal’s main target in attack, with previous reports having suggested that personal talks have already happened between the Gunners and Eze. The England international is reportedly willing to join Arsenal, and being a boyhood fan, it would be a surprise if personal terms break down. Liverpool and Tottenham are also said to be keen, but the Gunners remain the favourites.

The 26-year-old has a £68m release clause in his contract at Selhurst Park, with the Gunners expected to have to pay at least £35m in an initial payment, with the rest being in instalments. However, reports are now suggesting that before they can launch a bid for Eze, one more thing needs to happen.

Arsenal need to sell Viera before landing Eze

Fabio Viera spent last season on loan at Porto, and he is set to leave the Emirates this summer, with the Gunners keen to cash in on the midfielder, who never really worked out in red and white.

According to Football Transfers, Arsenal are waiting to seal a sale of Viera to Bundesliga side Stuttgart before they can approach for Eze. The report says that talks are ongoing with the German club, who are looking to pay around £17m for the 25-year-old.

Arsenal have not publicly set a price tag on Viera, but seeing as they signed him for £30.5m in 2022, they would like to at least get a good chunk of that fee back from any sale. It is understood that as soon as Arsenal have sold the midfielder, they will have the green light to go after Eze, and secure what could be their final addition of the summer.
