Nottingham Forest sign goalkeeper Angus Gunn

Nottingham Forest have announced the signing of goalkeeper Angus Gunn from Championship side Norwich City.

He joins the East Midlands club following the expiration of his contract at Norwich.

The 29-year-old Scottish international began his career with Manchester City but failed to make a senior appearance. He spent the 2017/18 season on loan at Norwich, where he was ever-present.

He moved to Southampton on a permanent basis in 2018 and played a role in helping the club avoid relegation that season.

Gunn spent the 2020/21 campaign on loan at Stoke, before returning to Norwich in 2021. He went on to make nearly 120 appearances over four seasons with the Canaries.

He spoke to the club website on the move: "I am really happy to be here. This is a historic club on an exciting journey and I’m looking forward to being a part of it and getting to work.

"I’m joining a good group of keepers, and I believe my experience will add something to the team. I can’t wait to get going."

Chief Football Officer Ross Wilson added: “We are pleased to welcome Angus to Nottingham Forest today. He joins a strong goalkeeping department and adds his experience to the group.

“I know how much Matz has enjoyed his work with Rui Barbosa, and I’m sure Angus will enjoy that same coaching and support as he settles into the club."

Gunn has signed a one-year deal.
