Wolves are preparing for the start of the new Premier League season

Wolves are gearing up for their first full season under the guidance of Vitor Pereira. He was brought in as their replacement for Gary O’Neil during the last campaign. The Portuguese boss has since made a positive impression at Molineux.

It has been a tough summer so far for the Midlands outfit with both Rayan Ait-Nouri and Matheus Cunha leaving. They have the chance to do more incoming and outgoing bits of business over the coming weeks. The window shuts on Monday 1st September.

Fresh twist in situation of Wolves attacker Fabio Silva

Reporter Galetti has posted on X: “EXCL | RB Leipzig have decided to go all in for Fabio Silva after Sesko’s departure, trying to beat the competition from other clubs The Slovenian striker's exit is now IMMINENT.”

Silva, 22, has been facing an uncertain future over recent times. He spent last term on loan at Las Palmas but couldn’t prevent them from relegation from La Liga. Wolves forked out a hefty £35 million for him but he has struggled to make an impact.

La Provincia claimed in late April that Villarreal, Atletico Madrid, Eintracht Frankfurt and Stuttgart were eyeing up a swoop as well. Leeds United were then credited with an interest in June by ABC Sevilla. The Whites won the 2025 Championship title and went up with Burnley and Sunderland.

Latest regarding Wolves man Fabio Silva

Wolves have also loaned out Silva in the past to Anderlecht, PSV and Rangers. He is under contract until June 2026 meaning he has just over 12 months left. They risk losing him for nothing if they don’t cash in on him now or in January, assuming he doesn’t put pen-to-paper on an extension anytime soon.

Cutting ties with him is probably the best option and would suit both parties. They are unlikely to get what they paid for him though. Leipzig would be able to offer him a change of scene and a new challenge. They finished down in a disappointing 7th place last season and will want to perform better next time around if they can.

After signing him for Wolves back in 2020, their chairman Jeff Shi said: "Our recruitment team have been watching Fabio since he played for Portugal under-16s and they feel he has always been the best number nine coming through his age group anywhere in Europe.

"Fabio is a young player who shows not only incredible technical ability, but also his game intelligence for a player of his age is top class. Fabio has the potential to be a generational talent and for us to see him develop under Nuno is very exciting. He is the type of player our fans will love."
