Leeds United dream Xi vs AC Milan if Bilal El Khannouss signs amid two injury returns

The 2025/26 Premier League season is fast approaching - and Leeds United face a huge challenge to avoid an immediate return to the Championship next summer.

Daniel Farke's side secured promotion back to the top-flight by finishing top of the second-tier last term. They pipped Burnley to first place on goal difference, with both sides amassing an impressive 100 points.

The Premier League is a different beast, though, and the Whites have had a busy summer so far as they look to build a squad capable of survival. They've made seven additions to date, spending upwards of £70million.

Leeds have so far played out two draws in pre-season, against Manchester United and Villarreal, but face a stern test this weekend when they take on AC Milan. The Serie A giants recently beat Premier League champions Liverpool and will no doubt represent the toughest test for Farke's men before their campaign kicks-off against Everton later this month.

A handful of the club's new arrivals - including Sean Longstaff and Lukas Nmecha - featured in the draw against Villarreal, but the line-up could look slightly different against Milan depending on player fitness and any further additions. Leeds are reportedly interested in Leicester City star Bilal El Khannouss and could seek to capitalise on the Foxes' financial struggles following relegation to push a deal through.

Some reports in recent days have suggested the Whites are prepared to trigger the 21-year-old's £24.5m release clause, but it remains to be seen whether talks progress ahead of the meeting with Milan.

Elsewhere, Farke will be hoping that goalkeeper Lucas Perri can make his debut for the club after being sidelined with a minor issue since his arrival in West Yorkshire. Their manager also hinted at a possible return for Dan James, who missed the Villarreal fixture due to rustiness. Attacking full-back Jayden Bogle (hip flexor) is unlikely to be risked, meaning Sam Byram is in line to deputise at right-back.

Leeds United dream XI for AC Milan (4-3-3): Perri; Byram, Rodon, Bijol, Gudmundsson; Ampadu, Longstaff, El Khannouss; James, Ramazani, Nmecha.
