BenjaminŠeško: Manchester United and Newcastle United arrive at Leipzig hotels ready for fight

On Monday, Bild reported RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Šeško has told both Manchester United and Newcastle United that he wants to join them.

The German newspaper reported yesterday that bids from both the Red Devils and Newcastle are convincing Leipzig. They are waiting for the striker to make a decision, which could arrive on Thursday.

A fresh report from Bild provides the efforts put it by Manchester United and Eddie Howe’s side to convince the 22-year-old.

The proposals from the two clubs are around €85m, with Newcastle slightly ahead due to the realistic bonuses. The Magpies are desperate to secure his services, but face a tough battle with Ruben Amorim’s side.

Bild claims officials from both clubs have already checked in at hotels in Leipzig. Their goal is to convince both the Slovenia international and the Bundesliga club for the transfer.

The Premier League duo believe it’s best to hold face-to-face talks instead of over the phone, also as a respect for the frontman. The report states Šeško’s ‘official decision is expected on Thursday’.

According to Bild, Manchester United will likely win the race because the player wants to join them over Newcastle.

Šeško’s final decision is awaited, after which Leipzig will negotiate the bonuses of the operation. It’s claimed they prefer it to be linked to number of appearances rather than something like winning the Champions League.

These details can hopefully be ironed out quickly once Šeško confirms his decision, but it’s worth noting it took Arsenal and Sporting CP over a week to do similar regarding Viktor Gyökeres.
