Jarrod Bowen has had even more weight put on his shoulders after the latest update at West Ham.
Had it not been for Jarrod Bowen, West Ham could have been staring down the barrel of a relegation fight last season, and he is set to play just as important a role this year for the Irons.
Having already lost Mohammed Kudus to Spurs, West Ham are lacking options in the final third and will need to address that before they take the trip to Sunderland in just over a week.
Now, those needs may have just been amplified further after one of their forward options confirmed that he has had to undergo surgery.

Daniel Cummings set to miss start of West Ham season
Daniel Cummings arrived from Celtic in the summer, and the amount of potential he has certainly led to plenty of excitement at the London Stadium.

However, that excitement will have to wait for now, after he confirmed via his Instagram story (7 August) that he has had to undergo surgery for a shoulder injury.

Of course, Cummings wasn’t likely to have an immediate starting role at West Ham, but he would certainly have been an option, and this update will do nothing but put more pressure on Bowen.
With one less player to score the goals, Bowen will once again carry the weight of West Ham on his shoulders, and those at the London Stadium will have to hang their hats on him staying fit.

Potter still needs more arrivals this summer
You’d have thought after such a poor season last time out that the Hammers would attack the transfer window from all angles, though that has not been the case.
There has been a distinct lack of movement at West Ham this summer, though time is still on their side to rectify that before the window slams shut on 1 September.
