Sky Sports: Everton put on alert as Nottingham Forest table bid for winger on David Moyes’ radar

Everton face some really important weeks ahead in the transfer window, with improvements needed on Merseyside.

The Toffees open up their 2025/26 campaign with an away trip to newly-promoted Leeds United.

However, David Moyes has admitted his Everton squad is not ready to compete in the Premier League as it currently stands.

Moyes has been concerned by Everton’s transfer activity this summer, but there has been some positive news of late.

On Wednesday, Everton sealed the signing of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Chelsea.

More work is needed from the Toffees before the season starts in just over a week’s time, but they are now moving in the right direction.

A new winger is on the radar for Everton, and they may have been put on alert after Nottingham Forest joined the race for one of their targets.

Nottingham Forest bid for Everton target Omari Hutchinson

As the Blues look to strengthen their options out wide, Everton have eyed Omari Hutchinson as a potential alternative to Tyler Dibling.

The issue Everton have is that clubs around them hold a similar transfer list, and Nottingham Forest are keen to sign Hutchinson.

According to Sky Sports News, Forest have seen a £35m bid rebuffed from Ipswich Town for Hutchinson.

“I’m told it will take a much higher fee than £35m because the £35m figure is what the relegation clause fee would have been,” said Dharmesh Sheth.

“So, when Omari Hutchinson signed his contract with Ipswich Town, there was a relegation clause in there that would allow clubs to talk to him if they met the £35m relegation clause.

“However, that relegation clause is now null and void. So, Ipswich Town can effectively demand whatever they want.”

Forest are also battling Everton for Douglas Luiz from Juventus. The Reds are believed to be leading the chase for the Brazilian midfielder.

Competition from Premier League rivals has been the story of Everton’s window, and it looks as if that could continue for the weeks to come.

Everton could end the summer window on a high

If Everton are able to land their targets in the final weeks, then fans will not have too many worries for the new campaign.

But there are some major issues ahead of them.

Manchester City are demanding all of Jack Grealish’s wages covered if they are to allow him to depart on loan.

Naturally, his £300k-per-week salary is far beyond what Everton pay any of their players.

There has been some more positive news when it comes to Tyler Dibling, though.

Dibling has now asked to leave Southampton this summer, with Everton knocking on the door through numerous bids already being lodged.

If Everton do miss out on these two, then Forest’s interest in Hutchinson could be a real issue.
