Exclusive: Nottingham Forest learn Omari Hutchinson price tag after Ipswich reject £35m opening …

Nottingham Forest have identified Ipswich Town’s Omari Hutchinson as a priority summer target, with an opening bid of £35m rejected for the England under-21 international.

After Anthony Elanga signed for Newcastle United, Forest’s push to sign wide talent intensified, with 21-year-old Hutchinson a strong and available option after being relegated with Ipswich.

In fact, Nottingham Forest Newsrevealed that Hutchinson was on the early shortlist to replace Elanga, before the club pivoted towards Swiss star Dan Ndoye instead.

With Ndoye through the door, though, it looks as if Hutchinson remains on the radar after news of the £35m bid was revealed. On the back of this bid, Nottingham Forest News spoke to Graeme Bailey about the figure Ipswich are looking for to part with their star attacker.

Ipswich Town’s valuation of Omari Hutchinson revealed

After impressing in England’s under-21 Euros triumph in the summer, Hutchinson drew praise from Joe Hart for his combination of energy and quality out wide for the young lions.

Five goal contributions last season in the Premier League may not be outstanding on paper but his talent at 21 is undeniable, meaning that Ipswich will demand a high price from Forest.

According to Bailey: “Ipswich we believe want over £40m. Forest are testing the water as they’ve liked Hutchinson for a long time, he’s always been on their radar.”

Having featured alongside Elliot Anderson during the Euros, Hutchinson would fit in well in the Forest squad and provide an option across the attacking line, but the Reds are not the only Premier League side taking an interest in the Ipswich star.

Nottingham Forest face rivals in Omari Hutchinson bid

Given that he’s a homegrown talent with plenty of football under his belt at 21, it’s no surprise to hear that Forest will face competition if they want to secure Hutchinson’s services.

According to David Ornstein’s report on the £35m bid, Brentford remain interested in the attacking midfielder and have money to spend, given the sale of Bryan Mbeumo.

Back in July, The Bees also bid £35m for Hutchinson when the Englishman had an active relegation release clause, but the structure of the deal wasn’t enough to trigger the clause.

That clause has now expired, though, so Forest and Brentford could enter a bidding war in a fight to reach Ipswich’s £40m+ valuation.
