Nottingham Forest have identified RC Strasbourg’s Dilane Bakwa as a target to improve their attack this summer.
The winger left Bordeaux to join the Ligue 1 club in 2023 and scored 11 goals and 18 assists of which six goals and nine assists were from last season. Bakwa has a contract until 2027, and Nottingham Forest have made an attempt to sign him in this window.
That’s according to L’Equipe, and they report the Reds have made an initial offer of €24m plus €4m bonuses.
The French club are said to have turned down Nottingham Forest’s first bid, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t open to doing business.
It’s claimed Strasbourg are hoping to collect between €30-€35m for the France U21 international. The newspaper hasn’t made it clear whether these figures are including or excluding bonuses.
Nottingham Forest’s current offer is around €28m including bonuses and the report adds they are expected to return with a new bid. This may happen soon considering the player was left out of yesterday’s friendly against SK Sturm Graz.
In short, Nuno Espírito Santo’s side have hope of concluding the operation by improving their proposal.
