Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has shared some concerning injury news regarding Levi Colwill.
Colwill was a key player for the Chelsea boss last season, making over 40 appearances in all competitions.
However, it now looks like Chelsea could be without their star centre-back for the beginning of the new campaign.
The Blues begin their season with a home fixture against London rivals Crystal Palace.

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca confirms Levi Colwill injury
Maresca has been speaking ahead of Chelsea’s two upcoming friendlies against Bayer Leverkusen and AC Milan.
And in his pre-match press conference, the Italian confirmed that Colwill recently picked up an injury. He also revealed that Chelsea do not know when the 22-year-old will be back in a worrying development.
“We had a problem the last two days with Levi Colwill,” Maresca told the media. “We don’t know how long he’s going to be out, so for us we’ll see. Hopefully, not too long, but for sure it’s a problem for us.”

Colwill was really geared up for the new campaign. Colwill spoke about the upcoming season at the end of last month, warning his teammates that they will be targeted.
Chelsea now have the title of world champions after winning the Club World Cup, with Maresca’s men beating Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 in the final. As a result, Colwill believes everyone will want to beat them.
After their season opener versus Palace, the Blues have two more London derbies against West Ham United and Fulham before the first international break.

Chelsea’s potential centre-back pairing vs Crystal Palace
Maresca could have some big decisions to make at the back for the Palace game if Colwill is not available.
Wesley Fofana has just returned to fitness, so the former Leicester City manager may want to be cautious with him.
But if he is ready to play, Chelsea supporters could perhaps see a combination of the Frenchman and Trevoh Chalobah.
Tosin Adarabioyo and Benoit Badiashile are the other two centre-halves in the senior squad, while new signing Jorrel Hato can also play in central defence.
Former Chelsea defender Winston Bogarde thinks centre-back is actually Hato’s best position.
