Paul Joyce drops exciting update over Liverpool’s attacking transfer business after Nunez exit

**Reliable journalist Paul Joyce has now provided a positive update regarding Liverpool’s upcoming transfer business in the remainder of the summer window.**

Darwin Nunez’s time with the Reds has almost reached its conclusion after three up-and-down years at the club, with the Uruguayan set to join Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.

It feels like the right decision by Liverpool, with the striker not at the required level, and it will now be interesting to see what happens next in terms of incoming signings at Anfield.

The Reds aren’t finding it easy to strike a deal for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak, especially with Manchester United reportedly the strong favourites to sign key Magpies target Benjamin Sesko.

Meanwhile, the exit of Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich has increased the need for a new winger, even though teenager Rio Ngumoha is excelling during pre-season.

According to a fresh update from Joyce on [_X_](https://x.com/_pauljoyce/status/1953377860422336647) on Thursday morning, Liverpool will now turn their attention to bringing in more attackers, following the imminent next of Nunez:

_“Liverpool will look to strengthen in attacking areas with £46m deal for Darwin Nunez’s exit now agreed with Al Hilal.”_

**Two more attackers and a centre-back?**

-----------------------------------------

Liverpool’s summer transfer window has been an exceptional one to date, with Florian Wirtz’s arrival feeling huge, as well as the additions of Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez and Hugo Ekitike.

With Nunez departing, and Diogo Jota tragically passing away last month, a new striker is required, with Isak the dream addition for the Premier League champions.

The Swede is training alone at Newcastle currently and is seemingly desperate to join Liverpool before the end of this month, but there is plenty of work to be done before a deal is agreed.

Meanwhile, a left-sided winger to provide competition for Cody Gakpo is also important, with Real Madrid star Rodrygo and Lyon youngster Malick Fofana mentioned as options.

It is important that Liverpool don’t neglect bringing in a centre-back as well, though, with depth limited there after Jarell Quansah’s move to Bayer Leverkusen. Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi is a strong, albeit expensive, choice.

If the Reds sort all three of those pieces of business, this summer could well be the best window in the club’s history.
