Nottingham Forest make transfer statement as 'critical' deal agreed

Nottingham Forest have completed more summer transfer window business.

The Reds have confirmed a departure from the City Ground, with defender Josh Powell joining Colchester United on loan.

The 20-year-old has moved to the League Two club on a season-long deal, having played for Forest during pre-season this summer.

Head of football development & talent management, Craig Mulholland, said: “This was an important loan for us to get right in this window, as it forms a critical next stage in Josh’s development journey.

“We are delighted, given the excellent relationship, to again entrust Danny (Cowley) and his team with another Forest talent.

“We have significantly enhanced our Player Pathways strategy, and all aspects of Josh’s loan will now be carefully monitored, and where appropriate supported, by our team.

“We wish Josh and Colchester good luck for the season.”
