John McGinn is one of the many boyhood Celtic fans yet to pull on the green and white.
McGinn almost joined Celtic in 2018 but the transfer broke down and he joined Aston Villa from Hibernian instead.
The Scotland international has always had aspirations of playing for his boyhood club but any hopes of that may take a while longer after Newcastle United were credited with interest.

Newcastle United exploring John McGinn transfer
According to Craig Hope of the Daily Mail, Newcastle are exploring the idea of bringing the 30-year-old to the north east of England.
Newcastle, who were beaten by Celtic in pre-season, have struggled in the transfer window and are currently wrestling to keep star man Alexander Isak at the club.
With two years left on his contract, there is a chance that the midfielder could leave Villa Park, even though Unai Emery believes he is a key member of the squad.
Villa do need to sell players though to comply with PSR rules and McGinn could be the one that is sacrificed.

MORE CELTIC STORIES
Luke McCowan, Callum McGregor and Kieran Tierney are just three of those Celtic fans living the dream and in 2024, McGinn revealed that he has always dreamed of playing at Celtic Park.
He said: “When I was young all I ever dreamed about was playing for Celtic and didn’t ever see myself playing for Aston Villa,” he told ‘The Scottish Football Social Club’.
“But I have got two-and-a-half years left at Villa, whether that sees me off or if I’ve still got something left in the tank we will see. You never know.”
