Reports from France exploded into life on Wednesday claiming that Liverpool are very keen on PSG’s Bradley Barcola.

According to L’Équipe, Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola is on the radar of the Reds, having tracked the Villeurbanne-born winger for some time.

The France international has fallen to fourth choice in PSG’s attacking lineup, trailing behind Ousmane Dembélé, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Désiré Doué. Despite this, PSG are reluctant to let him leave during this transfer window.

Having invested €50 million to sign Bradley Barcola from Lyon in 2023, the French champions are expected to demand no less than €100 million if a direct Champions League competitor seeks to acquire him.

This gargantuan price tag that would represent their largest outgoing fee

The winger enjoyed stellar 2024/25 campaign in which he registered 21 goals and 21 assists across 64 appearances for Paris Saint-Germain as the French giants secured both the Ligue 1 title and their first Champions League crown

However, Paul Joyce has downplayed links and instead suggests that Liverpool do not want to obstruct the pathway for Rio Ngumoha:

“Reports of interest in Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola have been downplayed, in part because of the emergence of Rio Ngumoha, who is 17 at the end of the month and has made a strong impression in pre-season,” reported the Merseyside journalist.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are expected to sign attacking reinforcements with both Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez departing the club.

It has been reported that reported that any incoming forward must meet two essential criteria: possess the quality to command a starting berth under manager Arne Slot and represent sound market value in line with Liverpool’s budgetary discipline.

One can definitely argue whether €100 million represents fair market value for Barcola.
