Liverpool could switch their focus to Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola if they are unable to sign Alexander Isak, journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed.
The Premier League winners are still working on a deal to bring Isak to Anfield before the transfer deadline, but if they fail to agree terms with Newcastle, a move for Barcola could come to fruition.
The French international is reportedly seen as the 'dream option' in Liverpool’s search for a new left-sided winger, as they look to replace Luis Diaz following his departure to Bayern Munich.
While they have not yet engaged in direct talks with PSG, Liverpool appreciate Barcola internally and could make a move in the latter stages of the transfer window.

Romano, speaking on his YouTube channel, revealed that Barcola could emerge as a concrete target for Liverpool if they are unable to land Isak:
“The Isak deal is absolutely still alive. In case the Isak deal can't happen because Newcastle decide to close their doors and not proceed with this one, Bradley Barcola is the dream option in terms of wingers.
“Because for Liverpool, the striker is Isak. If they can't get Isak, there is the possibility of going for a winger in that case and Bradley Barcola is seen as a dream target internally at Liverpool.
“As of today, Liverpool have not made contact with the agents. Liverpool have not contacted Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool are not negotiating for Barcola.”
Barcola – whom Romano says PSG rate as 'one of the best players in the world' – has seen his minutes at Parc des Princes shrink following Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s arrival last season.
The 22-year-old forward is no longer a first-choice option on the left wing for Luis Enrique, and his limited involvement at the Club World Cup only highlighted that further, with Barcola making just two starts.
The France international made a total of 64 appearances for PSG last season, scoring 21 goals and providing 21 assists.
Barcola remains under contract in the French capital until June 2028, having joined from Lyon in the summer of 2023.
