Report: Tottenham now eyeing move to sign 'world-class' Champions League star, £35m gets deal…

Tottenham are among a host of Premier League clubs eyeing a summer move for Juventus outcast Douglas Luiz, according to CaughtOffside.

The Europa League winners are reportedly keeping a close eye on developments surrounding the Brazilian midfielder’s situation, as Juventus are open to his departure just 12 months after signing him from Aston Villa.

Luiz is believed to be available for €40m (£35m) this summer and has no shortage of suitors in England, with Liverpool, Nottingham Forest, Everton, Leeds and West Ham all keen.

Forest are said to be leading the race for Luiz’s signature at the moment, though no agreement has been reached yet over his move to the City Ground.

According to CaughtOffside, Luiz is believed to be prioritising a return to the Premier League this summer, having turned down a potential move to Turkish giants Fenerbahce.

The 'world-class' Brazilian midfielder would bring proven top-flight experience to Tottenham this summer, having made 175 Premier League appearances during his time at Villa Park.

Luiz has struggled for regular opportunities since joining Juventus last summer, making just three starts in Serie A and amassing a total of 516 minutes.

His debut campaign with the Bianconeri was disrupted by two separate injury setbacks, which also limited his involvement in the Champions League, where he made six appearances.

Tottenham are anticipating a busy end to the summer transfer window, as they eye further reinforcements following Joao Palhinha’s arrival on loan from Bayern Munich.

According to reports, the Lilywhites have recently made a phone call to explore the conditions of a possible deal for Manchester City forward Jack Grealish.
