Even though Leeds United have seen just two transfer exits this summer, a host of players left last month. The club saw some key first team stars leave after their contracts ended.
Manor Solomon and Joe Rothwell returned to their parent clubs at the end of their loans. And Junior Firpo and James Debayo left after both failed to sign new contracts with the club.

Joe Rothwell was a big part of Leeds’ success last season; the club had to rely on him after a string of injuries to their starting midfielders. At the end of the season, he returned to his parent club after the loan ended. Rangers then signed the 30-year old on a permanent deal.
It seems like his start to life in Scotland is going well. Former Leeds and Rangers star David Robertson has urged Russell Martin to sign more players in the mould of Rothwell if the club want to compete at domestic level.
“When you go to the Dens Parks and the Tannadices, the stadiums haven’t changed since I played years ago. That’s where you need those guys to roll up their sleeves and fight. It’s not just all about playing the greatest game.” he said to Ibrox News.
“Other than the Old Firm, maybe Aberdeen and Hearts, the other teams just sit and defend, so you’ve got to try and break them down. They make it difficult for you, and it takes a special type of player to do that. I think possibly in the previous couple of years, I don’t think the players have been that type, but I think guys like Joe Rothwell, they’ve obviously got an idea of the British game, and how sometimes you’ve just got to win games regardless of how you play.”
Joe Gelhardt to Rangers could be off
Last week saw Leeds United star Joe Gelhardt be linked with a move to Rangers. The report came from Football Insider. Since then, no news has developed. But this week, Hull City are said to be close to a deal to sign the forward. This could mean that Gelhardt has chosen to stay in England rather than move to Scotland this summer.
Until the player is officially announced, no one can rule anything out.
