Chelsea have entered talks with Manchester United to try to sign Alejandro Garnacho, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.
Garnacho's time at Old Trafford appears to be over, with Ruben Amorim admitting that it hasn't worked out with the Argentinian forward.
"Garnacho is a really talented boy, but sometimes things don't work out. You cannot explain specifically what it is. But I have the feeling that Garnacho wants a different thing with a different leadership."
During the 2024/2025 season, Garnacho fell out of favour at United under Amorim, and it appeared that an exit in the summer would be likely. A sale would be beneficial for United financially, considering they paid a minimal fee to bring him to the club from Atletico Madrid.

Reporting on X, Jacobs has confirmed that Chelsea have now opened talks with Manchester United for Garnacho. The Red Devils are demanding in excess of £40m, while Chelsea feel the asking price should drop should Benjamin Sesko's move to Old Trafford be completed.

Garnacho, previously described as 'phenomenal' by Jacobs, is likely to depart, and it will be interesting to see whether United are willing to sell to Chelsea. The young winger played a significant number of minutes for United last season, but towards the end of the campaign, it was becoming clear that he wasn't a guaranteed starter.
There's no doubt he's a player with plenty of talent, and he will be hoping Enzo Maresca can help unlock that if he does move to Stamford Bridge.
