Position: PG, SG

Age: 26

Height: 201 cm

Weight: 104 kg

Birth place: Ljubljana, Slovenia

Now Luka is with the Slovenian national team, preparing for EuroBasket 2025, where he will be showing out for the first time since finishing the season with the Lakers in the first round of the playoffs.

"There have always been questions about my fitness, but I think I was already a great player before," Doncic said while talking to Slovenian media on Thursday.

"What motivated me? Honestly, we made a slightly different plan this time around, and I had more time," he explained about the transformation.

"Last year was really exhausting – I played until June, and then the Olympic qualifiers followed right after, so I didn’t have much energy. This year, I had a bit more time and a different plan," Doncic said.

Luka said it was hard at first to begin his training and follow the plan, but then it became a habit.

"It was hard at first, but then it becomes a habit. It wasn’t easy, but eventually, things started flowing," said the basketball star, who still isn’t sure how his new athletic form will affect his game.

"I don’t know if it’ll be any different now. I’ve only had two five-on-five practices with the team so far. Before that, I hadn’t played since the last NBA game, so we’ll see."

"Basketball means a lot to me. It’s given me so much in life – not just the fact that I get to play it. I love other sports too, so the first few days without the ball were hard, but I got used to it pretty quickly," he added.
