Analyst Shuts Down Common Shedeur Sanders Narrative

Stop us if you’ve heard this one before, but the Cleveland Browns are entering a new era of quarterback play.

They went back to the well when they signed Joe Flacco, but Shedeur Sanders, Dillon Gabriel, and Kenny Pickett are all fighting for a spot in this QB room.

For a team that’s worked relentlessly to find a solution for the position, this multi-faceted approach might be their best until they find someone who can stick around for the long haul.

Sanders was named the starter for the first preseason contest, a decision that has been met with equal parts disdain and happiness.

Doug Gottlieb talked about this in a recent segment of “FOX Sports Radio,” mentioning that many people have driven a narrative about Sanders heading into the year.

“They’re making it out like the world is out to get Shedeur Sanders,” Gottlieb said.

"They're making it out like the world is out to get Shedeur Sanders. And this is one of the most obnoxious things you can say when it's about themselves or about somebody else who was born on third base."

In his eyes, Sanders has an equal opportunity to get the starting job in Cleveland, and when looking at reports out of camp, he’s doing all the right things.

Sanders has seemingly worked as hard, if not harder, than his counterparts in the QB room and is ready to get his chance in this league.

He might have a chip on his shoulder in year one, which might not be a bad thing, especially if he starts for the Browns at any point this season.
