David Sullivan faces a huge end to the transfer window at West Ham.
The 76-year-old is in charge of transfers at the London Stadium after sporting director Tim Steidten was sacked last season.
Graham Potter’s side are in desperate need of reinforcements, and that is especially true when it comes to their attacking ranks.
They should become more active in the market after the latest developments involving Michail Antonio’s future emerged.

West Ham part ways with Antonio
Antonio missed the back end of last season through injuries sustained in a car crash in December, and his future was a huge question mark for Sullivan and Co heading into the campaign.

Made 323 appearances in a 10-year spell, notching 83 goals
Won the Europa Conference League in 2023 with the Irons
Ends his stint in E20 as the club’s record top-flight goalscorer

However, it has now been resolved, and the 35-year-old will leave East London after his contract with the Hammers expired.
The Irons confirmed their decision via X (7 August) with a statement thanking the Jamaica international for his services.
Sullivan has to enter the market for new West Ham striker
There is absolutely no excuse for Sullivan not to enter the market for a new attacker after the Antonio update.
Potter only has Niclas Fullkrug and Callum Wilson as recognised number nines at his disposal, and both of those options are extremely injury-prone.
Fullkrug and the ex-Newcastle man both made just 18 appearances in the Premier League last season, which is simply not good enough for the Hammers’ only options.
They scored a combined three goals in those matches, with the German being responsible for all of that, so it is not very encouraging.
Sullivan and Co. must sign a new forward for Potter; otherwise, they are doomed to repeat the dismal campaign that they have just escaped, in which they finished in 14th place.
There was hope that the E20 outfit could turn around their fortunes with a great summer window, but so far, that has failed to materialise and the upcoming season could be even worse.
The owner has to change that, and since he is in charge of transfers, it should be his head on the chopping block, not Potter’s, if he fails to do so before the deadline.
