Scottish giants Rangers are reportedly interested in acquiring the services of Arsenal goalkeeping sensation Karl Hein.
Karl Hein could end up parting ways with Arsenal before the end of the transfer window. According to Dominik Schneider, Rangers have entered the race for the signature of the Estonian international, who spent the 2024/25 season out on loan.
Hein’s sensational rise at Nomme United caught the attention of the North London club, who acquired his services back in 2018. He went up the ranks at some pace and got promoted to their first team in the summer of 2022 after an impressive loan spell at Reading.
While the youngster is highly rated by people at the club, he has only made one first-team appearance so far. The Estonian international spent the last season on loan at Spanish club Real Valladolid. While he tried his best, Hein could not help them survive in the top flight as they finished bottom of La Liga.
In his 32 outings across competition, the 23-year-old conceded 70 goals and only kept five clean sheets. The numbers certainly do not do justice to his talent. Despite not being at his best, he did manage to attract interest from a number of clubs.
Hein’s could part ways with Arsenal
While Karl Hein is back at Arsenal, his future has become a big talking point with just 12 months left on his deal. With the Gunners signing Kepa Arrizabalaga, the 23-year-old certainly won’t have much of a part to play in their first team. As a result, he seems open to a move away from the club.
Sevilla kept a close eye on him during his loan spell in Spain, and they are interested in signing him. The player is reportedly open to a move to the Andalusian club. Meanwhile, Scottish giants Rangers have entered the race for his signature. While they do have Jack Butland in their ranks, they are looking for more competition in goal.
The 23-year-old will not only give the manager more options at the back, but he could prove to be a great acquisition for the long run. With his contract running out, Arsenal can certainly consider cashing in on the 23-year-old.
