BEREA, Ohio – Haslam Sports Group (HSG) announced today that David Jenkins has been elevated to President. Jenkins is in his 22nd year with the Cleveland Browns and HSG, previously serving as the organization's Chief Operating Officer.
Jenkins played a pivotal role in the Haslam and Johnson families' creation of HSG in 2020, after they acquired the investor-operator rights to Major League Soccer's Columbus Crew. Jenkins was highly involved throughout each stage of an expedited franchise transition that kept the original MLS franchise in its rightful home city. He also helped the family secure a controlling interest in the Milwaukee Bucks, as the NBA Board of Governors approved an HSG ownership share purchase in 2023, giving the family-run conglomerate ownership stakes in three of the five major North American professional sports leagues.
As part of his role, he leads the organization's daily business operations and long-term vision, directing all organizational goals related to the business, including financial management, revenue generation, marketing, stadium operations, government relations, and administration.
"David has done a remarkable job steering and growing our business across Haslam Sports Group. He has assembled an outstanding results-oriented executive team that pushes each other while also working extremely well together," said Managing and Principal Partners Dee and Jimmy Haslam. "We couldn't think of anyone more deserving of this role, as he has been a dedicated and loyal teammate and we are incredibly lucky to have him continue leading our organization."
"I'm honored and humbled to serve in the role of President for the Haslam Sports Group," said Jenkins. "Dee, Jimmy, Whitney and JW have been tremendous leaders who have invested in our employees and our community and I'm grateful for their trust and the opportunity they've afforded me to lead HSG. We will continue to expand our efforts and prioritize our fans, our community and winning and I'm thrilled for what's ahead for this organization in Northeast Ohio, Central Ohio, Milwaukee and beyond."
