Manchester United and Chelsea are in talks to resolve the future of Alejandro Garnacho this summer.
Garnacho was one of five United players left out of Ruben Amorim’s first-team plans ahead of pre-season.
Amorim told the Argentine talent to find a new club in front of his teammates after being left unimpressed with his attitude.
Garnacho is prepared to exit Old Trafford, five years after moving to Manchester from Atletico Madrid’s youth setup. However, he is keen to stay in the Premier League, making it difficult for United to offload him
Chelsea have been his strongest suitors in England, having followed the 21-year-old since January. Now, the Blues are pushing to get the deal over the line.
According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Chelsea have “stepped up talks” with United over a move for Garnacho.
It is claimed “a price of £70million has previously been communicated to suitors.”
Ornstein adds that “talks have now advanced” between the two clubs, and the Argentina international “expects” to move to Stamford Bridge.
As per the report, Chelsea’s increased interest in Garnacho “comes after United agreed a deal in principle with RB Leipzig for the transfer of striker Benjamin Sesko.”
