Chelsea‘step up’transfer talks with Man United

Chelsea have reportedly “stepped up” transfer talks with Manchester United as they look to sign Alejandro Garnacho this summer.

The winger looks set to leave Old Trafford after falling out with manager Ruben Amorim, who reportedly told him to find a new club in front of his teammates at the end of last season.

Chelsea have been long time admirers of Garnacho and were linked with a move for the outcast in the January transfer window, but the player remained with the Red Devils.

This time, though, the Blues have “stepped up” their interest in the 21-year-old and have “advanced” talks over a potential deal with Man United, according to The Athletic.

Garnacho now “expects” to complete a move to Stamford Bridge. He has “ruled out” all options other than joining Chelsea and staying put at United this window.

It is claimed that the west London outfit’s interest in the Argentina international “increased” after Man United struck an agreement with RB Leipzig for the signing of Benjamin Sesko. The striker will move for an initial transfer fee of €76.5m (£66.4m) plus €8.5m (£7.37m) in add-ons after he snubbed Newcastle United.
