Selling Darwin Nunez to a PIF-owned club does not necessarily mean Liverpool will make a fresh offer for Newcastle United star Alexander Isak.
Liverpool had an offer rejected for Isak, who wants to leave Newcastle United this summer.
It had been claimed that the Reds were prepared to walk away from the deal but a fresh offer from the Premier League champions has been predicted in other media reports.
Newcastle do not want to sell Isak, particularly when they are struggling to sign any kind of replacement.
Still, it remains to be seen what will happen if Newcastle are able to bring in forwards this summer. If they do, perhaps there’s an argument to sell a player who clearly wants to leave and bank a huge fee.
In a fascinating subplot to the Isak saga, PIF are set to give Liverpool a financial boost. The Newcastle United owners also own Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal, who are set to sign Nunez for around £46million plus add-ons.
The deal may not have a direct impact on Isak immediately, however.

Liverpool still not planning to bid for Alexander Isak
According to journalist Ben Jacobs on social media platform X, Liverpool are set to explore the market for another forward this summer.

While Isak remains their priority, they will only make another offer if they genuinely believe the Sweden striker is attainable.
So far, Newcastle have given little indication that they would be prepared to sell the 25-year-old.
Isak is now training away from the rest of the Newcastle United squad after missing the club’s pre-season tour of Asia with a “minor thigh injury”.
Darwin Nunez expected to travel to Germany for his Al-Hilal medical in the next 24 hours. He will say his goodbyes at AXA today and not play in the Community Shield.

Alexander Isak could end up staying at Newcastle United
Isak may need to stay at Newcastle because they cannot sign a replacement, which is hardly an ideal outcome for all involved.
It’s hard to see how the striker could explain the saga away to supporters if he does end up staying.
Eddie Howe would have an almighty job to turn the situation around from here.
Isak has been a brilliant player for Newcastle and is well within his rights to want to leave. Newcastle are well within their rights to keep him, but the situation surely cannot drag on much longer.
A decision needs to be made. Newcastle cannot just blindly hope they sign two forwards this summer, given their track record thus far.
