Pittsburgh Steelers sign multiple-time Pro Bowl offensive lineman

The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed offensive lineman Andrus Peat, head coach Mike Tomlin announced on Thursday.

Peat has played both left guard and left tackle throughout his career. He did not play much for the Las Vegas Raiders last year, but played 715 snaps at left tackle for the New Orleans Saints in 2023.

Over his career, Peat has played mostly left guard, but has over 1500 snaps at left tackle, too. That gives the Steelers versatility to use him as they see fit.

Peat comes in with offensive tackle Calvin Anderson and offensive guard Gareth Warren banged-up. Left guard Isaac Seumalo will also not play, meaning that Peat could see playing time at both spots.

The Steelers have looked for veteran tackle depth over the offseason, and Peat is another player that can be thrown into the group that could compete for a roster spot. To make room, the Steelers released Nick Broeker.

Peat is a three-time Pro Bowler that Tomlin talked up as a legitimate player that could compete for a roster spot. The Steelers also signed quarterback Logan Woodside after Will Howard’s injury.
