Liverpool may sign new forward as Darwin Nunez nears a move to Al Hilal

Having already acquired the services of Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz, and Hugo Akitike, Liverpool are not yet done with the summer transfer window. As attacker Darwin Nunez is set to leave the club and move to Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal, Arne Slot and Co. could look for options who can fill the void of the Uruguayan.

While the Reds are in serious pursuit of Alexander Isak and have gone to the extent of submitting a £110m bid for the player, the interest hasn’t materialised into something as  Newcastle see the player as worth £150m. That means, Liverpool’s exorbitant bid was met with rejection.

**Liverpool will continue to chase Isak**

-----------------------------------------

According to _Sky Sports_, Liverpool will remain persistent over wanting to sign Isak and may offer another proposal to Newcastle. However, Newcastle may not consider the offer unless they have a replacement signed already.

Forget Isak, Newcastle haven’t even replaced Callum Wilson yet, and could lose the race to sign Benjamin Sesko against Manchester United.

Thus, the situation is complex. In case of a stalemate, Liverpool will have no choice but to explore other options. However, it is needless to state that a big club like Liverpool will only make strides for a player if he ticks the required boxes.

The club looks keen on entrusting 16-year-old winger Rio Ngumoha with a certain responsibility this season. As reported by _Sky Sports_, Ngumoha has entered the first-team contention after delivering impressive performances in the pre-season.

**What the season may hold for Liverpool?**

-------------------------------------------

Premier League champions Liverpool will enter the season to retain their title. But, it will be anything but easy for the club as Manchester City and Chelsea have augmented their strengths since the culmination of last season. Nevertheless, the Reds have also shown deep alacrity and have spent lavishly on player signings. They broke the club transfer record by signing Wirtz at a reported sum of £116m with add-ons, and splurged £79m on Ekitike. They are ready to break the bank for Isak as well. Hence, times have changed as Liverpool are in no mood to let the rivals have any edge.

However, whether the squad’s prowess will successfully translate results for the team on the field is the question that will be answered in due course.
