Mike Evans Has Honest Admission About His Future

Mike Evans will go down as the greatest wide receiver in Tampa Bay Buccaneers history.

That’s why it made sense that they want to keep him around for the rest of his career.

Whether that’s just this season or beyond remains to be seen.

“Right now, I’m just focusing on this season. This is the last year of my deal. I’m obviously an older player, but I feel great. Retirement at the end of the season is not off the table, and playing for two to five years is not off the table, either. I’m a Buc for life, no matter what,” Evans said on “Up & Adams,” via SleeperBucs.

Evans’ contract is up after this season, so there are no guarantees he will return.

Nevertheless, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t want to be there, and he’s made it clear that he intends to stay with the Buccaneers for as long as he keeps playing.

Evans had another strong campaign last season, but he will be 32 years old by the start of this season.

He’s tied with Jerry Rice for the most consecutive seasons with at least 1,000 receiving yards (11), which is a testament to his durability and health.

He’s still three seasons from tying Rice’s record of 14 total seasons with at least 1,000 receiving yards, but he just needs one more to break his record for most consecutive 1,000-yard campaigns, and that’s something that will just add to his Hall of Fame credentials.
