Manchester United have taken a big step forward in their chase for RB Leipzig’s Slovenian forward Benjamin Sesko.
United restructure bid as Sesko talks progress
The chase for a new number nine has been a priority at Old Trafford this summer. It looks like Benjamin Sesko could soon be wearing the famous red shirt.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Man Utd are now negotiating directly with RB Leipzig. They are working on changes to the structure of their bid to bring in the young Slovenian forward. The club has already signed Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo. Head coach Ruben Amorim is wasting no time rebuilding his forward line.
The Red Devils’ fans have grown unhappy with the lack of proper striker in front. Both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have failed to deliver regularly. Sesko’s arrival would complete a frontline overhaul aimed at reviving United’s form after a poor 2024/25 season.

Fans hope Slovenian forward brings immediate impact
While Newcastle United are also in the mix for Sesko. But, it’s the Red Devils who have taken the lead in recent days. Romano shared the latest update on his YouTube channel. He stated that the club is now focused on finalising the financial details with Leipzig.
The transfer could mirror the structure of the Hojlund deal from last year. Although, Man Utd will be desperate for a better return this time.
By bringing Sesko to Old Trafford early, they can allow him to adapt. He can find form well ahead of the start of the PL. The striker has shown his talent while playing in the Bundesliga. He will likely work hard to find his best form while in England.
Nothing has been signed just yet. But, the signs are pointing to a full agreement between the player and the club.
