Nottingham Forest are trying to sign Douglas Luiz this summer, with things heating up as the transfer window starts to really get into the swing of things.
Nuno Espirito Santo wants four positions bolstered, with wingers, full-backs and central midfielders very much on the head coach’s radar.
Forest have added Dan Ndoye to the ranks in recent weeks, with the Swiss performer coming in as a replacement for Anthony Elanga who signed for Newcastle.
Igor Jesus has added substance to the attacking ranks, with Jair Cunha, another player to arrive at the City Ground from Botafogo during the window.
Angus Gunn checked in as a backup goalkeeper earlier this week and as the Luiz plot thickens, Forest are in grave danger of making a serious error of judgment.

Forest have agreed personal terms with Luiz and as a result, the two clubs are now locked in talks to try and get the midfielder to the City Ground this summer.
Yesterday, it was claimed that Forest might offer Ibrahim Sangare to Juventus to smooth through the deal to sign Luiz.
Six months ago, that might have been something worth looking at, but Sangare is well worth keeping from a Forest perspective and losing him would be a mistake.

Sangare was brilliant in the final weeks of the season and he’s also looked fitter and sharper than usual during the team’s pre-season campaign.
Losing Sangare in a swap deal wouldn’t make sense, no matter how desperate Forest are to sign the Brazilian midfielder Luiz before the window closes.
The Ivory Coast international has European experience and even if Luiz arrives at the club, his presence in the squad would add some serious strength in depth.
Forest need to strike deal for Luiz
The signing of a player who has played over 200 times in the Premier League shouldn’t be sniffed at and the club have to get busy here.
Edu has tried to sign Luiz twice for Arsenal and he certainly won’t want to miss out on a third occasion when the signing of the international looks like an easy one to complete.
Forest need to strengthen the squad and if Luiz signs at the expense of Sangare, there is a sense that the team is back to square one once again.
Hopefully, Forest have learned from previous failed transfer windows and can continue the savvy approach of recent years by adding Luiz and keeping hold of Sangare at the same time.
