Nicolas Jackson has been the name in many of the headlines since it became apparent that Newcastle United would miss out on Benjamin Sesko.
Several reports have linked Newcastle with a move for the Chelsea striker if they miss out on the Slovenian, which it now looks like they have.
Chelsea are asking £80 million for Jackson, however, and there's no way he's worth that. Although Craig Hope has reported in the Daily Mail that he has been told that a deal will get done at £60 million, which does make it much more appealing.
However, Jackson may not be Newcastle's priority after all, with Hope saying other targets will be pursued first.

Wolves' new signing Jorgen Stran Larsen is high on Newcastle's list
One player likely to be looked at before Jackson is Wolverhampton Wanderers' Jorgen Strand Larsen. Craig Hope reported last week that Strand Larsen was a 'dark horse' in the list of potential targets, and he's now saying that he's heard nothing to suggest otherwise since.
Even though Wolves have only just made his move permanent, signing him for £23 million from Celta Vigo after hitting 14 Premier League goals in a woeful Wolves side, there's an expectation that Wolves could still sell for a decent profit.
Craig Hope has said that Wolves would want £65 million for the 25-year-old, which could put Newcastle off, but it's clear that if we are to get a striker in this summer, it's going to cost us.

We'd go for Jorgen Strand Larsen over Nicolas Jackson
For a player to come into the Premier League, in a side as poor as Wolves were last season and still score 14 goals, he's clearly got something about him.
Hope says £65 million may be prohibitive, but it will open the door for a £130 million payday. And if he was that good for Wolves, imagine how could he could be under Eddie Howe.
It might not be an exciting name like Hugo Ekitike or Benjamin Sesko, but with a bit of Premier League experience behind him, he could ultimately prove to be the better option. We're definitely behind this idea.
