Chelsea Close In on Garnacho as United Talks Advance

Chelsea are stepping up their chase for Alejandro Garnacho, with talks advancing rapidly between the Blues and Manchester United. The Argentine winger is keen on moving to Stamford Bridge, while United remain firm on their £50 million valuation—at least for now.

Garnacho, now sidelined under Ruben Amorim, sees Chelsea as his next step—while the Blues accelerate plans to reshape their forward line. With Nicolas Jackson potentially on his way out and Xavi Simons on the radar, Garnacho’s arrival could mark the beginning of a bold new frontline rebuild.

Chelsea Become Garnacho’s Priority

Chelsea have tracked Garnacho for some time and made a move in recent days. Background checks are complete, and they are now preparing a formal bid, therefore, initiating major talks with United. Garnacho fits Enzo Maresca’s vision, adding raw pace and vertical threat out wide.

The 20-year-old was said to be keen on the move and has warded off interest from other teams. Sources suggest Chelsea consider him a marquee signing, with his Premier League knowhow and age fitting into the club’s view of how they want to be configured in the coming years. Garnacho also admires Maresca’s tactical setup and the chance to start regularly.

Some reports say Garnacho has already told United he wants to join Chelsea. Confidence is growing that the clubs will agree a deal—especially if Chelsea clear space in their squad.

United Hold Out for £50m—but Could Budge

Manchester United, fresh from sealing a £73.7m deal for Benjamin Sesko, are holding firm. They want £50 million in cash, using Chelsea’s Noni Madueke deal as the benchmark. United have rejected all swap deals and staggered payments.

However, some reports claim United may lower their demands as the window progresses. A fee between £30–£40 million could be enough if Chelsea apply pressure. For now, the Blues may need to offload players, with Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell among those the club could sell to raise funds.

Chelsea continue to prioritise Garnacho as their top attacking target. If they match—or negotiate—the price, they could seal the deal soon.
