An out-of-favour member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has this week bid farewell to one potential destination for next season.
That’s according to **[Diario Sport](https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/hector-fort-le-cae-pretendiente-120427286)**, who point towards Héctor Fort as the player in question.
The name of youngster Fort has of course emerged as a prominent one in the headlines surrounding Barcelona over the last week.
This comes amid the understanding that the 19-year-old does not feature in the plans of manager Hansi Flick for the season ahead.
Potential destinations for Fort, in turn, are now being actively sought out, with a year-long loan move considered the ideal scenario for all parties.
As alluded to above, however, this week, one of the versatile full-back’s leading suitors have made the call to pull the plug on talks for his signature.
As per a report from Sport:
‘Fort now knows that contacts with Mallorca have died. The Balearic club expressed interest in the full-back’s situation several days ago, but negotiations have stalled. Barcelona’s high demands when and the difficulties in finding a way out for Pablo Maffeo have caused Arrasate’s team to reconsider the right-back market.’
