Sky Sports continue to report West Ham’s interest in Liverpool winger Ben Doak.
The young wideman spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough and is believed to be surplus to requirements at Anfield. New Reds boss Arne Slot is reportedly looking to recoup funds after Liverpool’s heavy transfer spending this summer.
Elsewhere, midfielder and long-time Hammers target Tyler Morton has sealed a move to Lyon, while fellow England U21 star Harvey Elliott is heavily linked with RB Leipzig.
As for Doak, the link is something of a mystery. It’s fair to say Sky Sports haven’t had the best hit rate when it comes to West Ham [transfer](https://www.claretandhugh.info/west-ham-transfer-news/) rumours this summer, and there’s little to suggest Graham Potter is even in the market for a winger—despite Doak’s obvious talent.
The 19-year-old made a strong impression in the Championship last season, and Liverpool are said to have already turned down a £20m offer for him.
Whether there’s real interest from West Ham or this is simply another name thrown into the rumour mill remains to be seen—but at this point, it feels like one to take with a pinch of salt. Hammers ITK ExWHUEmployee reported last week that Potter did not wish to recruit another winger with the return of Crysencio Summerville on the horizon.
