Manchester United, AC Milan and Atletico Madrid have received a new update on their transfer pursuit for one highly rated midfielder, according to reports in Spain.

The Red Devils have signed both Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo from Wolves and Brentford respectively, as well as welcomed wonderkid Diego Leon this summer.

Manchester United are expected to be busy in the market ahead of the forthcoming 2025-26 Premier League season and ahead of the window shutting in September.

Ruben Amorim has been overhauling his United first-team squad amid the pre-season tour this summer and the Red Devils are still tipped to offload players.

The 40-year-old United manager could still welcome new signings through the doors at Old Trafford and Ruben Amorim needs to bolster key positions.

United have been linked with bringing a new striker and a shot-stopper to the Premier League club, while the Red Devils are expected to sign a new midfielder.

Valencia’s position on Javi Guerra amid Man Utd, AC Milan and Atletico Madrid’s interest in the midfielder

Javi Guerra has been linked with Manchester United amid the summer window and AC Milan and Atletico Madrid have also been keeping tabs on the midfield talent.

The 22-year-old Spanish midfielder started his youth career at La Liga outfit Villarreal before he made the switch to Valencia’s youth academy in 2019.

United-linked Javi Guerra rose through the ranks of Valencia’s youth set-up and the Milan and Atletico target later broke into the first team at the La Liga side.

According to Cadena COPE, Valencia are keen to fend off interest from United, Milan and Atletico and have opened talks with Guerra over a new deal at the club.

The Spanish outlet reports that Guerra’s renewal process is the ‘most expensive’ for Valencia and the La Liga club are pushing for him to commit his long-term future.

Javi Guerra’s stance on Man Utd, AC Milan and Atletico Madrid amid the talks with Valencia over a new deal

Javi Guerra’s current deal will expire in 2027 and it has been reported that the Spain-born midfielder ‘welcomed’ the first offer that Valencia made him.

Cadena COPE claims that ‘significant progress’ has been made between Guerra’s representatives and the Spanish club in a meeting last week over a new deal.

The publication added that the ‘deal was put on track’ during last week’s meeting and ‘talks have continued,’ with a new contract for Guerra not too far away.

It has been reported that ‘offers’ from Milan, Atletico and United ‘have been left behind’ and Guerra will ink a deal until 2029 once the final contract is formalised.

Guerra has been viewed as a ‘flagship’ part of Valencia’s ‘project’ for the 2025-26 La Liga campaign and he is ‘committed to staying’ at the Mestalla Stadium.
