Man Utd agree £160,000-a-week deal to sign 'extraordinary' star - journalist

Manchester United have agreed a deal worth £160,000-a-week with Benjamin Sesko to bring him to Old Trafford, according to Slovenian journalist Rok Viksovic.

The Red Devils have worked hard all summer to bolster their attack for manager Ruben Amorim, with the Portuguese coach prioritising a new-look forward line with Matheus Cunha joining from Wolves in a £62.5m deal and Bryan Mbeumo signing from Brentford in a deal worth up to £71m.

A deal for Sesko was agreed on Thursday afternoon with RB Leipzig worth £73.7m including add-ons, and it has now been revealed what he will earn once he completes a move to the Premier League.

Manchester United’s Plan For Unveiling Benjamin Sesko Revealed

Sesko, who has been described as 'extraordinary', opted to make the move to join Man Utd over Newcastle despite being offered a bigger financial package by the Magpies, who had also offered RB Leipzig a bigger transfer fee too.

And it has now been reported in Sesko's homeland that the player is set to sign a five-year contract until 2030 that will see him pocket £160,000-a-week.

The 22-year-old will pick up around £8m-per-year, which will place him in a similar bracket to fellow new signings Mbeumo and Cunha as well as Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire financially.

However, Sesko will be heavily incentivised to help Manchester United improve in the coming seasons as it can also be revealed that his agent has negotiated for a clause to be inserted in the deal that will see his wage increase by 25% should the team qualify for the Champions League, which would boost him up to £200,000-a-week.

The Slovenia international has already jetted into the UK on Thursday and is expected to undergo his medical on Friday before signing the contract, with the club planning to unveil him to fans at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon before their final pre-season clash with Fiorentina.

The club will then turn their attention to the Premier League opener against Arsenal the following Sunday, where he could make his debut for his new team.
