Spurs confirmed on Thursday that Maddison will undergo surgery after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury, leaving Frank with a creativity void to fill in his squad with Dejan Kulusevski also sidelined for the foreseeable.

Asked if Spurs are looking to secure further signings, Frank told reporters: "We are definitely in the market in general.
"Of course, when players get a long-term injury we need to look into that, but generally we are in the market, yes. Nobody feels close or far away. I'm not saying anything before there's anything that is completely 100%."

The head coach had previously said he was "positive" Solanke would face Bayern, and after another no-show, Frank insisted Solanke will "be available quite soon".
He was also upbeat on Udogie's injury, adding: "I'm not worried. We'll know more info in a couple of days."
