Manchester United seem to be very intent on having a blockbuster summer to ensure that the squad is competitive for the 2025/26 season.

The Red Devils, in poker terms, are willing to go all-in. However, as it is, in the game, Man Utd are taking a massive gamble that their all their transfers pay-off.

News –£100,000 a week star offered to Manchester United – Should they sign him?

Now, as per reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Man Utd are prepared to agree personal terms to sign talented Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Carlos Baleba.

The young player has been one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League over the last season. His performances for the Seagulls has been quite impressive.

Romano mentions that Man Utd have made contact with Baleba’s camp and personal terms with the player is unlikely to be an issue. However, reaching a fee agreement with Brighton is set to be the difficult task.

The Athletic have also confirmed that the Red Devils have made contact to sign the 21-year-old. Baleba would be a transformational signing for Ruben Amorim’s team.

It has been mentioned that Brighton would be demanding in excess of £100m to sell him this summer. The Seagulls have always been an excellent selling club.

Brighton have had this knack of producing one defensive midfielder after another, each looking even better than the previous one.

It started with Yves Bissouma followed by Moises Caicedo and now, Carlos Baleba. Man Utd would benefit from adding the latter to their squad in the upcoming season.

He would help replace Ugarte in defensive midfield and liberate the likes of Casemiro, Mason Mount and Bruno Fernandes.

Let’s wait and see how Man Utd go about signing Baleba. It is unlikely to be an easy operation but if the Red Devils are willing to go all out this summer, it could be possible and only time will tell how it pans out.
